Toronto based Sparks Productions was founded in 1991 by Executive Producer Andy Crosbie. Sparks is one of the industry’s early practitioners of giving clients a wide variety of directorial talent to consider while working alongside trusted local producers and crew.

With transparency being one of the company’s corner stones, Sparks has developed through the decades a network of relationships with directors and other production companies around the world. It has also led to Sparks becoming known as a consistent and reliable provider of production services to foreign producers wanting to execute productions in Canada.

The company’s tenacious dedication to making each production succeed both on an artistic level and from a user experience standpoint, has given Sparks a positive reputation as a hospitable home for talented people and a safe place to nurture great ideas.

The Sparks team has worked in every corner of Canada from chasing icebergs off the coast of Labrador to capturing the life of indigenous people in Northern Alberta to filming a rhino an hour outside Toronto.

Charles Burroughs cut his cinematic teeth in Quebec’s wintery wonderland, filming freestyle skiers defying gravity (and common sense). With an eye for the extraordinary, he moved on to the crazy world of advertising, bagging a trove of awards, including a Cannes Lion.

Charles likes to think he’s a fashionista, probably because his fashion films were featured in Vogue and showcased at international film festivals in over 20 countries, across 4 continents.

Charles briefly moved his career to London, where he was welcomed by the Arts Council of England as an ‘Exceptional Talent Migrant’—a title he proudly showcases on his Tinder profile.

Charles obviously wrote this biography himself in the third person to give it a sense of importance.
